George Kenneth Mallory

George Kenneth Mallory, ein amerikanischer Pathologe, ist am 14. Februar 1900 in Boston geboren. Er studiert Medizin an der Harvard Medical School und schließt sein Studium 1926 erfolgreich ab. Seine praktische Tätigkeit beginnt er in dem von seinem Vater gegründeten und nach ihm benannten Mallory Institut für Pathologie am Boston City Hospital. 1929 beschreiben Mallory und Soma Weiss das später nach ihnen benannte Mallory-Weiss Syndrom. George Kenneth Mallory wird 1951 Direktor des Instituts. Er unterrichtet als Dozent sowohl an der Harvard Medical School als auch an der Boston Medical School. 1948 wird er zum Professor an der Boston Medical School berufen. 1966 wird Mallory emeritiert. Er stirbt 1986.
